Accepting the way you are

Day 1

Word of the Day – Acceptance

“Accept – then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it.”

Eckhart Tolle

The very first step towards mindful living is Acceptance. When you wish to start living mindfully, at first, you have to learn the art of Acceptance.

Acceptance means welcoming everything in your life in the way they are: nothing to hide, nothing to lie. Be true to yourself.

Try to accept things in the same way they appear to you. Maybe they are not in the desired situation the way you wanted to see, but, don’t be hard on them. Just let them come, stay, and then go. Slowly, taking time for each step.

You don’t need to rush or run. You don’t need to catch them fast. Let them be at their own pace.

Here begins your day of Acceptance.

The task of the day:

Sit and relax. Loosen up yourself.

Allow your inner self to accept everything that’s coming to you. Everything. Your flaws, your imperfections, the mistakes you have done in the past, your regrets, the lessons you have learned from the past deeds of you, things for that you wish to blame yourself, and more.

Then, try to keep your mind vacuum for 10 seconds and don’t think about anything. Then slowly, make a shift of thoughts towards positivity. Remember about the things that are good in your life, that make you happy and feel content, that you are grateful for in life. Think that the past days are already gone, and you can’t bring them back in life. So, you should focus on this present moment only.

Think about the things that you love to do, and remember the way you embrace happiness while doing that. Accept the vibes coming to you and let your body, mind, and soul be healed with inner calmness.

Quote of the day:

Everything is here. Everything is now.

– The Saffron Storyteller

Affirmations of the day:

All that sad, all that bad and all that happened in the past, is good and happened for a good reason. I welcome everything with my big heart and kind soul. I accept my flaws, my imperfections, my mistakes, and I apologize to the almighty for everything I did wrong in the past. Now, I accept everything in my life as the way they are. I accept myself right in the way I am. All I have in my life is great and beautiful. I am happy for everything I have in life. I am proud of myself.

Write in your journal:

Your task of the day is to Acknowledge. Only accepting is not enough for living mindfully. Along with acceptance, you need to acknowledge everything that comes your way of accepting. Acknowledge every positive and negative thing that came to your mind while doing the acceptance activities and write them down in your journal today. Acknowledge your feelings and emotions, the things you want to do right now, the things that make you proud, the things that make you embracing the art of acceptance easier for you. Then acknowledge that you are brave; you have enough courage to accept things exactly the way they are. You are beautiful in your own way, and this whole process of acceptance makes you more beautiful than before.

This way, you learn the art of acceptance and prepare yourself for a new beginning.

The last step of this process:

Before you leave the place, assure yourself by saying:

“Today, I feel happy. I feel content as I am on my way to learning acceptance. I have realized that acceptance is the very first step for letting go of the past and stop thinking about the scarcities of my life. Instead, the more I accept everything in the way they are, and also I accept myself exactly the way I am, the more I start seeing life’s brighter side. I will focus on here and now. I will come back tomorrow with a new purpose and try to learn a new way of living mindfully.

I am here to receive more peace and more calm in my life.”

This is all for today. We will come back here tomorrow once again with a new way of mindful living. Till then, be still, be calm, be mindful.

  2. This is so true. During the initial days of the lockdown, last year we had to move to our hometown After staying at Mumbai since the past 7 years, I couldn’t adjust to my own hometown wherein I have spent most of my life. Slowly I accepted the situation, and realised how blessed I was to be in a safer place , with my family and oldest friends around me.
