About the Book:
‘Box of Tales Volume 3’ is the third book of the Box of Tales series, an initiative by ‘Beyond the Box’, the creative writing initiative founded and run by Anupama Dalmia.
The kids try their hands at writing fiction and their amazing mentor, Anupama, helps them in bringing out their best creative offerings. Thus, the ‘Beyond the Box’ anthology books are a delight to read the children are putting their heart and soul into crafting their best stories, from realistic fiction to historical stories to dodging into futuristic science fiction.
Author Bio:
This anthology is a compilation of twenty-four short stories written by twenty-four kids (read authors) from the Beyond the Box community.
Book Cover:
The book cover is gorgeously designed to offer the readers the idea of the book. The vibrant stacks of books clearly deliver the message that this book is all about nurturing creative minds, and to add an extra level of curiosity, the designer has beautifully added a little girl reading a book attentively. Therefore, the book cover attracts young minds to choose this book and delve deeper into the stories written by other young minds.
A special credit goes to the book cover designer(s) and the illustrators of this book – Parth Palod and Siya Choudhary.

Writing Style:
The writing style of this book will make you amazed at the talent of these little kids. They are trained under a prolific writer herself, Anupama, and thus, their writing style is very sharp and aptly presented. Also, I want to appreciate the mentor for her teachings that the kids could have their creative wings and fly their sky of imagination to write some brilliant stories.
A Glimpse of the Book:
Inside the book, you will get a varied range of short stories. There are stories in genres like humor, horror, societal norms, topics to dive deeper into life’s journey, mystery, suspense, fantasy, and many more.
You will find stories like sharing a valuable life lesson through a little girl’s eye, an adventure to a haunted church, a person’s mundane life woven in a poetic tone, a polar bear cub’s world tour, a plane hijack, kidnapping, learning the value of failure in building a remarkable success afterward, friendship between the caged animals inside a zoo, a magical pencil and many more such fascinating stories.
A Quote to Remember:
“Sometimes the people you hate the most actually teach you a valuable lesson.”
– From ‘A Valuable Lesson’ by Sanjam Kaur
What Makes the Difference:
If you are convinced by the idea of a children’s anthology written by kids, and that makes you avoid reading this book because you are grown-up and you don’t like to read children’s books anymore, then I must say you are going to miss a gem of a book.
The ‘Box of Tales Volume 3’ anthology is nothing like children’s fables or stories with illustrations or books with bedtime stories for your kids. Rather, this book makes you pause and ponder upon the beautifully crafted short stories.
Please mark my words, while reading the stories, kindly don’t allow your mind to welcome the thoughts that these stories are written by kids. No, they are not written by kids but written by some exceptional writers from the kids’ community, more precisely, the BTB community.
Thus, reading these stories never feels childish or monotonous, instead, they convey a deep message with profound and innocent thoughts.
My Recommendation:
This book will be a nice read to all parents who want to make their children inclined towards the world of literature at an early age. Also, I would like to recommend this book to readers of every age because these stories, written subtly and woven with the sublime innocence of children, will fill your heart with delight.
