Senses become the tool

To transcend into, the consciousness

Where there is nothing but a strong sense

Of perceiving what is dwelling within –

Cultivating awareness;

Altering between being completely present

and being withdrawn, absent

in the next moment,

‘Maya’ reveals the great play –

Of presence and absence

When the cosmos is captured within a speck.

A spiritual poem on being fully aware in the present moment

    This is such a beautifully written piece! The way you’ve captured the ebb and flow of presence and absence is so profound. It really made me pause and reflect on how fleeting yet powerful our moments of awareness can be. Loved the depth in your words!

    An Australian visiting from the A to Z – I had to look up “Māyā ” and then your poem made sense and I enjoyed it

    I like your play with words and the imagery you used to convey your thoughts about the philosophy of Maya.

    Btw, I see that you have featured certain symbols with each post in the series. Curious to know what they are and what they signify.

      Hello! Thank you for your interest in those illustrations. I found them on Canva, and some of them grabbed my attention as I found a similarity with my poems and those illustrations. Some of them, I edited to make them more relevant. But most of them are related to the poems themselves. Thanks for reading my poems and leaving your valuable feedback. I will read yours soon.

    Such a beautifully reflective piece, Swarnali. You’ve captured the delicate dance between presence and absence so well. I love how it weaves the idea of perception into something cosmic yet deeply personal. ‘Maya’ as the grand stage—so thought-provoking

    I tried reading the poem five or six times, but I kept getting stuck because I couldn’t find a way in. When I came back to it now, though, the last line finally gave me an opening. It made me realize that great things can be experienced through small things. In the same way, we can sense the vastness of the cosmos within our own consciousness, even though it seems to come and go because of maya.

      Thank you! Yes, you got it right. The vastness of the cosmos could be captured in the fraction of seconds within a tiny frame, as small as a speck. Yet we keep fighting over material things.
