I have read the scriptures

I have learned the ancient wisdom

But nothing could quench the thirst

That made me embark on this quest.

Reading is not enough

Learning is a mere tool

To draw attention to seek the truth.

If you want to earn the ultimate wisdom

You have to burn yourself first

and walk in the fire,

So the truths dawn on you

as you unravel the secrets of self-discovery.

This is brilliant! Yes, reading is just the starting step and learning isn’t enough if we don’t use it correctly. Wonderful poem!

So well put Swarnali. There’s no point amassing all the wisdom. Wo kehte hai na bookish knowledge, right? Unless we go through struggles and face some downfalls we aren’t going to become a person of substance

Self discovery is the hardest journey. Visiting from the A-Z. All the best.

So well written! Absolutely right. The purpose of wisdom fails when it cannot quench your quest for self-discovery.

Discovery is not just a journey but an adventurous learner not knowing the destination but one who keeps walking!

It cannot be easily explained; you need to experience it yourself. Many people have come to this realization, each in their own unique way. What they share in common is
    – the effort they put in and
    -the environment they had
    to discover themselves.
    Evocative. 👍 All the best.

You’re right. I find a strange similarity in the subjects and words written by Kabir and Lalan Fakir. Both of them realized the same things (maybe) but in their own ways.

So true, Swarnali! It takes an entire lifetime to discover our true self! Quite a quest, but all worth it, once done.
