What is the purpose of life??

 

What is the source of every sound of the universe??

 

What is the essence of all the ‘Vedas’, all the ‘Mantras (Sacred Chants)’??

 

This is an endless quest of the soul, and the answer is, ‘OM’….

 

‘OM’ is the root of every word, every chant. It is the eternal syllable, the sacred sound. ‘OM’ is the symbol from where the journey begins and ends, and then…begins a new one, once again.

 

Hearing the roar of the ocean, you start searching for it. By following it you reach the ocean. ‘OM’ is like the sound of the ocean. It is the thirst of knowing the unknown…and the thirst is never quenched until you attain ‘Liberation or Samadhi’…the ultimate goal of life.

 

It is believed that ‘OM’ is the reason of creation of the universe, its cosmic vibration holds together the atoms of the world and heaven. It also preserves the universe and can be found as the factor of destruction, too.

 

THE MUSIC OF OM

 

“Om is the one eternal syllable of which all that exists is but the development. The past, the present, and the future are all included in this one sound, and all that exists beyond the three forms of time is also implied in it.”

In ancient scriptures, it is written that by vibrating the sacred syllable ‘Om’, the supreme combination of letters, a believer will certainly reach the highest state of “stateless” eternity while meditating deeply.

 

In Boston, a scientist was doing research on the word ‘Om’. He recorded ‘Om’, and then uploaded its frequency into his computer and measured it. He found that the frequency of ‘Om’ is the same as the frequency of the earth. The frequency of earth’s rotation on its axis and the frequency of its revolution around the sun were found to be the same as that of ‘Om’.

 

This is an excerpt from their findings :

 

“From this, we could conclude that chanting ‘Om’ mantra

 

results in stabilization of brain, removal of worldly thoughts and increase of energy. It means that concentrating on ‘Om’ mantra and continuously doing it slowly shifts our attention. It is a reflection of the most fundamental interlocking processes in our bodies…the harmony we play echoes the harmonic relationships of every vital system i.e. our heartbeat, our breathing, our brainwaves pulsing, our neuronal firing, our cells throbbing, our metabolic, enzymatic, and hormonal rhythms and our behaviors in our addictions and our habits. In this sense, ‘Om’ mantra is a brain stabilizer, by practicing it one can enter deeper and deeper into the own natural state, which is also an energy medicine for a human being under stress“.

 

The ever-present ‘Om’, is the pulse of the universe. It is everything that was, is, or yet to be. ‘OM’ : The Sacred Sound.. The Eternal   Symbol.
