The ghat was buzzing with various sounds.

The ringing bells of the temples,

the call of the hawkers,

the tourist guides calling their guests,

the chanting of the sadhus,

the chatter of tourists,

the laughter of children playing and so many.

But amidst all those sounds,

sitting in the ghat silently

and watching everything passing by,

made me feel happy.

It was an escapade for me.

I was happy with the decision I made,

to take a break from my busy schedule

and visit Banaras.

I found my lost self in that tranquil morning.

Sometimes,

an escape is needed

to embark on a different path to self-discovery.

We all seek an escape

from the pattern we follow every day.

An escape from the routine.

An escape from the monotony.

An escape from the repetition.

An escape from the same old fashion.

An escape from the silent cacophony of the heart.

An escape from the mind’s relentless questions.

An escape from the fight

to wake up in the morning and start the day afresh.

An escape is all we look for when we are tired.

This is why,

it’s an escape when we find ourselves within us.

And we realize,

An escape is the gateway

to meet you in you.
