It’s again the time of the year when we, bloggers and other content creators who want to participate in the biggest content creation challenge, start gearing up for the extravaganza!

The month of April is approaching and soon, we will begin the A to Z challenge. It’s a content creation challenge where bloggers write posts with a title that corresponds to the letter of the day. It starts from the first day of April, that is, 1st April with the letter A, and then continues with the consecutive letters of the English alphabet.

However, it is not mandatory to stick to the English alphabet only. If you wish, you can try another language to create your series. Also, it’s totally your call to follow the alphabet in a straight way or in the reverse way, that is, starting with Z on 1st April and so.

I started participating in the A to Z challenge in 2020. It was my first year when I came across the challenge and decided to take a plunge, especially to write my first book based on the series.

Thus, the first-year series ‘Letters of Light’ took the shape of my first book, ‘Awaken the Story Within.’

Awaken the Story Within Swarnali Nath

Seeker, This is for you. These letters, these words, all belong to you. I feel we all are connected, in some way or the other. We are bonded with the same string of stardust, and this is meant to be, forever. Perhaps, the universe is writing our stories together. I know, right now, you are seeking the light. You are seeking hope, you are seeking peace. You are seeking love, faith, and courage. You are seeking the healing touch of empathy and kindness. I can feel you and I want to send my words of hope and healing to you. That’s why I have started this journey of writing letters to you. Today I am here to remind you that amidst all the despair and darkness, deep down, you are blooming with hope, beauty, and grace. Whenever you need someone to hold your hand, to speak your heart, to feel your emotions, pick a letter from this bunch and read it aloud. I hope you will find a reason to smile and the purpose to begin anew. Sending you some petals of love and a handful of stardust. A dreamer by heart, a seeker by soul.

In 2021, I wrote a series based on my mindfulness studies. The series titled ‘More Peace, More Calm’, consisted of posts where I shared mindfulness practices including journaling prompts, blissful reminders, and positive affirmations. I also made a podcast series on the same.

In 2022, I wrote a series on words that define happiness and contribute to the well-being. These exotic words were gathered from different corners of the world. After preparing the series, the idea clicked in my mind that how about working on the series more and give them a shape of a book? As I thought, I kept researching such concepts and then finally, in 2025, I released my third book Little Things, Big Things with 28 such concepts and philosophies that share secrets of well-being from across the world.

Far from the hustle and bustle of life, you may hear a sound – the music of silence, the rustle of fallen leaves, or the whispering breeze; they may want to tell you what is forgotten and forsaken – celebrating the little things.

Within the everyday moments, there is a glimpse of your blissful self. The still, calm, tranquil self of you has always been with you, even to your utmost ignorance. All you need is to stop, stare, and embrace the art of happiness.

In this book, I bring you 28 ways of finding happiness in the little things, sharing concepts like Lagom, Hygge, Wabi-Sabi, Kintsugi, Fika, Susegad, Lykke, Kefi, Sisu and more.

I hope this journey reminds you of the forgotten and forsaken ‘little things’ and their connection to the ‘big things’, by revealing the secrets to embracing a balanced, happy, and peaceful life.

In 2023, I took a break as I was engrossed in working on my memoir. It was only three months when I had just begun writing my memoir and I was so excited to work on the project that I decided to work on that with my undivided attention. So, it was better to skip the tedious blogging challenge.

In 2024, I was just recovering from a month-long illness and then I started suffering from sciatica. The left side of my lower body was taken over by pain and I was unable to sit and lie down on the bed. Yet, amidst the painful days, one day, I noticed a beautiful orange hibiscus blooming beside my window and the beauty of the flower made me forget my sufferings. I remembered how Lord Rama once stopped walking as he was amazed to see the beauty of the Pampa Sarovar, and that experience taught us how it is to savor the moments of little joys and beauty in ordinary things. This thought made me choose the theme of writing about the beauty and joy of the ordinary things around us. The series comprised 26 poems themed on ‘Solace in the Mundaneness.’

This year, as usual, I was skeptical about the participation because I have been in extensive writing since November 2024. I wrote extensively for the last four months, and thus, after releasing my third book In March, I decided to take a break.

However, being a workaholic and wishing to escape my empty mind, I deliberately wanted to participate in A to Z 2025. But I was dwelling in a dilemma – I wanted to participate in the challenge, on the other side, I was suffering from a creative block.

But it’s all because of the fantastic community of wonderful people – Blogchatter Bloggers, who pushed my spirit high, and finally, I decided to join the battalion.

Now, when it comes to choosing a theme for A to Z 2025, I always make a list of themes and choose from them. This year, too, I made a list of some easy concepts that I could write without any hassle. However, among them, one theme caught my attention and after some consideration, I decided to write on that only.

Whenever I dwell in a dilemma or go through a tumultuous phase of emotional turmoil, I prefer to pause. I choose silence over words, I choose quietude over crowd.

The same happened here. To calm down the restlessness within, I chose to close the doors to the outer world, and rather, open the door that takes me to the Journey Inward.

It’s time to look within and bring the gems from the resonance in the void, where the silence and the words emerge together to echo the infinity.

I have prepared a list of the words I am going to choose as the theme of the poems. The list consists of words themed on self-discovery, spirituality, and the inward journey. Each word represents a concept or practice that can aid in personal growth, introspection, or the quest for deeper meaning:

Awakening: The process of becoming more aware of one’s true self and purpose.

Balance: Achieving harmony between mind, body, and spirit.

Consciousness: Awareness of oneself, others, and the universe.

Detachment: Letting go of attachments to material things and transient emotions to find inner peace.

Enlightenment: The state of spiritual awakening and clarity, often associated with transcendent understanding.

Illusion:  The illusory state for a long time in the life of the seeker that makes the seeker wander in the mist, in search of the truth. (This poem is only included to the NaPoWriMo Challenge and excluded from the A to Z and Blogchatter A to Z Challenge.)

Forgiveness: Releasing resentment and anger, freeing oneself from negative emotional burdens.

Gratitude: Acknowledging the blessings in life, cultivating a sense of appreciation.

Harmony: Alignment of thoughts, feelings, and actions with the universe and the self.

Introspection: The act of looking inward to understand one’s thoughts, feelings, and motives.

Journey: The personal quest of growth, discovery, and transformation.

Karma: The principle of cause and effect, where actions influence future outcomes, shaping one’s path.

Offering:

Liberation: Freedom from mental constraints, fears, and attachments, leading to inner peace.

Meditation: A practice of focusing the mind and achieving a deep state of inner calm and self-awareness.

Nirvana: A state of perfect peace and liberation from suffering, often associated with enlightenment.

Oneness: The understanding that all beings and all things are interconnected, a sense of unity with the universe.

Presence: Being fully aware and engaged in the present moment, free from distractions.

Quietude: A state of inner calm and stillness, often a result of meditation or contemplation.

Fire:

Revelation: The act of uncovering profound truths about oneself or the universe.

Soul: The deepest essence of a person, often thought of as the seat of true identity and consciousness.

Transformation: The profound change or shift in one’s life or consciousness, typically resulting in personal growth.

Understanding: The deep awareness or insight into one’s nature, others, or spiritual truths.

Vibration: The energy or frequency that all things emit; often refers to the spiritual energy that shapes experiences and connections.

Wisdom: Knowledge and experience that guide a person toward living a truthful and meaningful life.

Disguise:

Xenial: The quality of being hospitable, often symbolizing the openness of the soul to others in a spiritual journey.

Yin-Yang: The balance of opposing forces in the universe, symbolizing duality and interconnectedness in life.

Zen: A school of Mahayana Buddhism that emphasizes meditation and mindfulness as paths to enlightenment and inner peace.

I hope to write on the topics with the revelations from my journey inward. Stay with me in the month of April 2025, to know what I bring to you with the spiritual poems of self-discovery.
