What is the need to confine this ‘I’

In the tiniest possession on this earth,

This body;

Why is this ‘I’ caged in the circle of rebirth?

Doesn’t it belong to everyone

like the candle that enlightens others’ paths?

    This feels so deep — love how it questions the limits we put on ourselves when our true nature might be so much bigger. Beautiful and thought-provoking

    Deep and Profound. I is insignificant in this vast universe which is bound in a cycle, an infinite journey ❤️Nice analogy ✨💫

    Same pinch for the title. 😉

    That’s a poignant take on ‘I’ and why it is better when not restricted to a tiny/ limited entity. Lovely!

    The purpose of life is so vast & this poem reminds us exactly the same.

    This beautifully captures the essence of questioning our existence and purpose. The metaphor of the candle is so powerful. It reminds us of the infinite potential of the self to illuminate and connect with others. Truly thought-provoking!

    Doesn’t the “I” belong to everyone? The analogy of light-lighting other lights-is so powerful. You see, when one candle lights another, its own brightness doesn’t diminish. In fact, the more candles that are lit, the brighter the world becomes. Wow.

    Beautiful poetry. All the best!

    This poem echoes my thoughts…I too ask myself this question quite often. How crisp and clear your poem is!
