Not all lovers are destined to unite at the end of their story. Some have the fate of ending their story as a tale of love that is half-finished, half-written, and half-told, because this is how their stories find a home. The more they long for the union, the purer becomes their love, as the fire sets ablaze in a room of darkness before giving birth to a sunflower. Such is the story of Yamini and Vivaswan, who were never apart, yet never together. As it dawns, the dewdrops laid on the grass whisper their story to us.

Vivaswan was meditating in his room. He was praying to God to reveal to him the light that would guide him toward his purpose in life – seeking answers to his questions and discovering the ultimate truth. The ashram was quiet as it was midnight, and everyone was

sleeping. Vivaswan was the only person in the ashram who was awake. It was the last night in the ashram for him, as he completed twelve years there, and now it was time to return home.

Before going to his village and joining the temple as the new priest, he wanted to devote himself to the quest for the truth and find the answer to his questions. He wanted to meditate, chant, and pray to God, seeking His blessings so he could find his answers.

He meditated for the whole night, and when it was about to dawn, looking at the bluish crimson sky, he screamed to ask the Omnipresence, “How to reach the light? Which path will lead me toward the truth that I have been seeking? How to attain enlightenment?”

This time, he heard a voice as it echoed from the mist, “Sacrifice. Surrender. Devote.”
