I have been seeking ‘Enlightenment’
Ever since my birth.
But the spiritual path
That I have embarked
On, is different than what I imagined once.
The Enlightenment is not my ultimate reward
I don’t seek Nirvana, the illumination of wisdom
Where I will attain Moksha all alone.
I seek the Nirvana that offers light to everyone
Mukti –
the liberation of souls – of hundreds, thousands, millions.
I am enlightened
When I surrender myself to the art of compassion
I am enlightened
When I devote myself to the service of mankind
I am enlightened
When I unlock the door of the cage
And let the shackled bird fly to attain salvation.
