Letting Go of the Past to Embrace Peace and Calm

Day 12

Word of the Day – Letting Go

“If you let go a little, you will have a little happiness. If you let go a lot, you will have a lot of happiness. And if you let go completely, you will be free.”

– Achaan Chah

One practice that brings us closer to personal development and strengthens our inner stability is letting go. From my own experiences I have realized that, in order to accept the present as the way it is now, you have to acknowledge first. Then, you have to stay with the acceptance and let your body, mind and soul flow with this feelings. After some time, they would heal. Then it comes to recognize the importance of moving on in life.
But, how would one move on in life if he/she would never let go of the past?
It’s a vital question in life and I have been dwelled there amidst the sufferings of past for long days. As time passed, I realized only one truth. That all that I meant to be, all that I deserved to have and all that I destined to reach, one day, I will certainly be there.
All I need is wait for some more time and learning the art of letting go.
So, based on some personal experiences, I have curated today’s day. Let’s begin together, walking one step closer to peace and calm.
Here begins your day of Letting Go.

The task of the day:
Letting go begins with allowing yourself to welcome the new ray of light in your life.
Find a place to sit, most preferably away from the daily chaos and close to nature. Sit in a posture that feels grounded. Breath deeper and relax your body.
Bring your full attention to the present moment and experience the calmness around you. Close your eyes and try to capture the imagery of the surroundings in your mind. Slowly, acknowledge what is happening in this moment; with you and around you. Think about what is happening in your mind.
Feel the sensations of the air entering and exiting your body. Notice all of the sensations that make up the experience of breathing in your body.
Feel the calmness in mind and let it flow to your body and soul. With this sensation of peace in your mind, accept things as they are now. Be more attentive to the present and assure yourself with hope.
This is the moment of awakening when you feel letting your previous thoughts free from all disbeliefs. Let yourself free from all sufferings from past. Let yourself fly to the sky of dreams and aspirations.
Try to notice the oneness with your inner self and be compassionate to him/her. Let go your worries and feel this present moment full of positivity.

Quote of the day:

If the night can end and let go of all its darkness, there is waiting a new dawn for you, too.

– The Saffron Storyteller

Affirmations of the day:
Today, I am happy because I have taken one step towards moving on. I let go of all pain, all griefs, all sorrows. I let myself free from all the sufferings. I let the night go to welcome a new daybreak in life. I let the darkness go to welcome new ray of light in my life. I let go of chaos and welcome peace to my mind. This sense of calmness would heal my soul.
Write in your journal:
Write about your feelings after you chose to let go all your pain. Write down the observations you did while the process. You may experience some shifts in thoughts; pen down your emotions. Write everything came in your way; your past days or the reason for your pain or your feelings with peace. Whatever you are feeling now, just write down.
The last step of this process:
Before you leave the place, assure yourself by saying:
“Today, I feel calm. I feel peace within my mind as I am on my way to learning the art of letting go. I will I will be more attentive to this present moment. I will allow myself to adopt new skills and welcome a new chapter in my life. I will let my inner peace with me for the whole day. I will come back tomorrow with a new purpose and try to learn a new way of living mindfully.
I am here to receive more peace and more calm in my life.”

This is all for today. We will come back here tomorrow once again with a new way of mindful living. Till then, be still, be calm, be mindful.
