The book ‘The Essence of Motherhood’ is a chronicle of a mother from her pregnancy days to early motherhood days. Written with many vital facts and a thorough approach, this book is a helpful guide to every would-be mother and the new mommies. As you will have some handful guides from the experts inside this book, your motherhood journey will become easier and you will have a wholesome experience of your motherhood while reading this book.

About the Book:

Do you think motherhood is messy, along with messy houses, messy rooms, and messy clothes? If your answer is yes! Then yes! It is. It’s messy and beautiful. The book is divided into two sections: Healthy Pregnancy: Pregnancy is divided into three phases called the three trimesters and I have tried to cover all the unique issues and events that occur in each trimester, answering the questions that most mothers or to-be-mothers have. A few topics include healthy diet plans and exercise, maintaining self-love, garbh sanskar, packing your hospital bag, and how to prepare yourself for D-day. Cherish Motherhood: At the end of nine months, you are able to hold your baby in your hands and see him or her for the first time. You are now officially a ‘Mother’! The second part of my book is about the so-called official motherhood stage once the baby is delivered. How can you take care of yourself in the postpartum period? How has your role as a mother changed now? You must read this book if you: Are a first-time parent, Are scared of pregnancy, or Want to cherish motherhood What can you expect from this book? Fitness and diet plans for the three trimesters Garbh Sanskar and the right techniques Personal experiences of mothers Positive visualization and thinking methods How to deal with postpartum depression and weight Experts interviews The book will help you in having a positive mindset towards pregnancy. It’ll also give you a glimpse of what you can expect during and after the pregnancy phase. Motherhood is a beautiful journey but not a destination. This book will help you through this journey like a friend, a guide, and sometimes like a mother or mother-in-law.

About the Author:

Radhika Jindal is a well-known blogger and a mother of a 3-year-old. She loves writing about relationships, motherhood, books, parenting, and self-care. She shares her thoughts through her blog, www.radhikadiary.com. This is her first book.

Book Cover:

The book cover shows a woman carrying her baby in her womb, and the picture justifies the theme of the book. Moreover, the author has kept the book cover clean, with fewer elements, thus highlighting the book’s central topic to the readers. Only a friendly piece of advice to the author or the book cover designer, if it would have a brighter shade as the background image and the tagline written with a darker color, it would have turned out more appealing to the readers.

Inside the Book:

The writing style of the author is subtle and simple. Therefore, the language of the book is easy and it will not stress the reader to know the vital information.

Additionally, the author has shared key takeaways, relevant pictures, datasets, expert interviews, and some other information that make the reading experience wholesome and offer the reader (mommy-to-be readers, specifically) a reminder of the gift she has bestowed.

I haven’t read any other motherhood books yet so I can’t tell you what makes this book stand out from others but it’s surely a helpful guide to all the would-be mothers.

What I Liked and What I Disliked:

I liked how the author has done her research to write this book. From the evidence of the chapters, information shared, interviews covered, and presentation of the facts, I can see the author has frequently connected with the experts and has received enough guidance to write this book. As a newbie author, I also seek this, but very few people get to learn from the veterans. I personally believe, for the expert interviews, this book has become more useful to mommy-to-be readers.

Only I felt the author should have given more emphasis on the format of the book. If the chapters are formatted more carefully, it would have made a better impact on the reader’s mind.

My Recommendation:

Since this is a handy guide to your motherhood days, this book is a perfect read for all the mommy readers out there. If you are a mommy-to-be or a newly-born mommy (yes, mothers are reborn with their children), I recommend you grab this book as your next read.

Also, if you are someone who just got the good news and is excited to take a ride on this incredible journey of motherhood, then pick this book right away! You will get lots of information from a fellow mommy who shared her knowledge on every page of this book.
