Slowing down to find peace of mind

Day 19

Word of the day: Slow Down

“In today’s rush, we all think too much–seek too much–want too much–and forget about the joy of just being.”

– Eckhart Tolle

I often think, in the hustle and bustle of life, would I ever have a time to pause and ponder? I have so many things in my secret wish list; all my dreams are waiting in the long queue. Every morning when you wake up in life, slow down and give yourself some time to go with the flow. Do things at a slow pace and find time to spend some quality time with yourself. Take a pause and slowly finish your day’s tasks.

Here begins your day of Slowing Down.

The task of the day:

Sit and relax. Try to vacuum your mind and be still. Whenever the prompt is coming to your mind that you have a lot of works pending in your to do list, bring your mind to peace. Say: “Today I have chosen to do things slowly. I will give some extra time to all works. I will take extra time to think, to respond. I will have some extra dose of happiness and bliss. I will need some extra time to finish the tasks.”

Whether you’re slowing down today, take a deeper look at the everyday things around you and discover some beautiful things in them. Take a pause from the rush of life and give yourself a treat of calm.

Quote of the day:

Sometimes, you need to take a pause to breathe a little deeper, to smile a little brighter, and to celebrate life a little longer.

– the saffron storyteller

Affirmations of the day:

I am happy, I am calm. I took a pause from life and look around. I can see life is like a play and I am playing a role here. If I take a break from today’s schedule, life doesn’t seem to stop going. Rather, taking a pause and slowing down helped me to see some little beauties hidden in the chaos. And I found my peace there.

Write in your journal:

Today you need to write about your thoughts of bliss. As you gifted yourself a handful of peaceful moments, pen down your feelings and emotions. Whatever you felt and discovered, just write it down. It’s all about your experience, write it in your own way.

The last step of this process:

Before you leave the place, assure yourself by saying:

“Today, I found some time from the rush of life to spend some blissful moments with myself. I discovered to quiet my mind in a blissful way. It helps to heal the mind, body, and soul. I embraced peace and calm with all my heart. I will let this state of bliss stay with me for the whole day. I will come back tomorrow with a new purpose and try to learn a new way of living mindfully.

I am here to receive more peace and more calm in my life.”

This is all for today. We will come back here tomorrow once again with a new way of mindful living. Till then, be still, be calm, be mindful.
